Brand protection for Shopify stores

A copy of a Shopify store is cheap to stand up: the product photos, the titles and the brand name are all on the public page, ready to lift onto a new domain. Katcher finds the storefronts using your brand that you have not authorised, shows you the evidence for each, and either closes the store or prepares the notice for you to send.

How it works for a Shopify store

It finds the copies. Katcher generates the domains a copier would register and sweeps public certificate-transparency logs, then checks each candidate against your store on seven signals, including product photography matched image for image, duplicated descriptions and titles, your brand used in a domain, a site calling itself the official store, and a recently registered domain with a hidden registrant.

It proves what it found. Each finding comes as a dated evidence pack. Every line carries the link or command you need to re-verify that fact yourself. A reviewer approves or rejects every finding before it reaches you, and rejections carry a written reason. Your own authorised stores are cleared and never reported. See what is in an evidence pack.

You decide what happens next. Katcher can send and chase the no-signature routes (Safe Browsing, the host, the registrar, the CDN, the payment processor), which assert nothing about who owns what and keep your contact details off the submission. Or it prepares the copyright or trademark notice and you review and send it. You will know straight away whether a store is one you authorised.

What it costs

The scan is free, and you see every storefront it finds, with the evidence, before you pay anything. What a plan costs depends on how many brands you protect and how many takedowns you need, so we set it on a short call rather than a one-size price. Talk to the founder or run the free scan first.

Straight answers

Does Katcher work for Shopify stores?

Yes. Katcher is built for the clone-store problem Shopify brands face: a copy that lifts your product photography, titles and name onto its own domain. You enter your store address, and the free scan returns every storefront it finds using your brand, with the evidence for each.

How does Katcher find clone Shopify stores?

It generates the domain names a copier would register and sweeps public TLS certificate logs for names no list could guess. Each candidate is DNS-checked, fetched, then compared against your store on seven signals, including product photos matched image for image, duplicated descriptions and titles, and recently registered domains with a hidden registrant.

Is there a Shopify app for this?

Not yet. You do not need one to start: enter your store domain and the free scan runs against the open web, not inside your Shopify admin. A Shopify App Store listing is planned.

What can I do once a clone of my Shopify store is found?

You choose per store. Katcher can send and chase the routes that need no signature, such as Google Safe Browsing, the host, the registrar, the CDN and the payment processor, and stores come down as a result. Or it prepares the copyright or trademark notice with every field filled from the evidence, leaving only the sworn statement for you to review and send from your own address.
